Hello! My name is Corey Hardwick and I am a professional dog trainer located in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have worked many different animal welfare jobs including; Animal Care Technician, Kennel Supervisor, and a Behavior Specialist. I love dogs and can confidently say there is no dog I won't love. I have experience handling and training dogs with severe resource guarding, separation anxiety, people/dog reactivity, jumpy/mouthy, and unsocialized/fearful behaviors. I am fear-free certified and I have a dog training certification from International School for Certified Dog Trainers (ISCDT). I possess great communication skills and I am an expert at canine body language. I am very good at helping people understand why dogs act the way they do. My ultimate goal is to keep as many dogs out of the shelters and in their homes.
This is my dog Dova! She was born deaf and we adopted her when she was seven. Dova is the reason I am so passionate about advocating for dogs. I learned so much from this lady. Dova is now fourteen and is still being a crazy lady!
These dogs are named Scooby, Judy, and Barnaby. All three of these dogs were labeled as not dog friendly. Barnaby (dork in the back) was petrified of being outside. We brought another dog with us on our walk and Barnaby perked right up and gave him so much confidence! Scooby (big guy red harness) was extremely reactive towards dogs. A little bit of muzzle training and add some Barnaby to the mix and boom! Scooby is now playing with dogs! Judy (pretty lady in the front) was also very dog reactive. For some reason these boys were able to get her to play. It felt like a miracle! All of these dogs were on euthanasia list and are now all living peacefully in their adoptive homes!
